How to build your online store in few minutes using jMarket, a step-by-step tutorial.

Note: Store setup can be achieved in few minutes if your store does not require any design customization and ofcourse fewer products.

Before we get started, let's go over what we will be needing:

2. Once you have a working Joomla site, time to install jMarket you may need to install other Joobi Applications base on your requirements. Click this article for installation guide.

3. After installing all needed Apps, if you are a commercial user you might want to validate your licenses. Click this article for license validation guide. Skip this step if you are you using the trial version.

Hint: The 30 day trial package and commercial versions are exactly the same, if you decide to purchase the commercial version you only need to enter the serial numbers. No need to reinstall.

4. If you have Joomla SEF turn on Joobi Applications works very well when Search Engine Friendly URLs and Use URL rewriting both enabled.

5. Create your site menus.  It’s important for your visitors to receive the best user experience on your site and hopefully land the sale. Remove any unnecessary menus that were automatically created by default. Click this article to learn how to create Joomla menus.

6. Once you have a working Joomla and jMarket install, let's go over the basic store settings we want.

Store Configurations

  1. Change the default size and proportion of yor products and categories.
  2. Enable watermark to protect your images (skip this step if you don't use watermarks on your images)
  3. Vendor Setup » skip this stage if you are using jStore.
  4. Cart Setup
  5. Payment Setup
  6. Tax Setup
  7. Shipping Setup » skip this stage if you are selling digital products.
  8. Custom Fields Setup

7. Maximize your profit (skip this stage if you are using jStore)

Create Commission Program » skip this stage if you are not taking any commission from every sale.
Subscription Setup » skip this stage if you don't want to use a subscription base store.

8. Create categories, types, options...

  1. Create Categories
  2. Create Types » using types canb be useful if you want to have a multiple catalog homepage for different type of products although this can be achieve as well using categories. Types is perfect if you charge different tax rate for different product types e.g car versus clothing...
  3. Create Options/Attributes
  4. Add Products and consider spending some time pre-cropping your product images. Or at the very least standardize the image size so your products will display evenly in rows/columns.

9. You will now have a basic working online store like eBay or Etsy.
