Amazon S3 is an online storage facility. It is inexpensive, fast and easy to setup. Since it’s a service provided by e-commerce giant Amazon, you can be rest-assured that whatever you store at S3 is secure.
Amazon S3 uses cloud hosting and image serving that is relatively fast.
Whether you are on shared hosting or a dedicated server, you pay a lump sum each month (or year) and the amount includes hard disk storage and bandwidth you might not fully use.
Instead of backing up your files on your local computer or server, you can store them online, and you have the option to keep them private or make them public accessible. It’s entirely up to you.
If you store your files online, you can access them anywhere as long as there is an Internet connection available.
The Amazon S3 integration is set to US Standard Region, so when you create your bucket make sure to set to US Standard otherwise it won't work.
AWS access keyThis is actually a username . It is alphanumeric text string that uniquely identifies the user who owns the account. No two accounts can have the same AWS Access Key.
AWS Secret keyThis key plays the role of a password . It's called secret because it is assumed to be known by the owner only that's why, when you type it in the given box, its displayed as asterisk or dots. A Password with Access Key forms a secure information set that confirms the user's identity. You are advised to keep your Secret Key in a safe place.
