This article explains how to update jNews in your Joomla site.

Requirements

To update jNews, make sure to make this files writtables.

Joomla / Components / com_jnews
Joomla / Media / com_jnews
Joomla / Modules / mod_jnews
Joomla / Plugins / System
Joomla / tmp /

Warning: Please do a backup before doing an update. Any customized files will get overwritten during update.

There 2 ways to update jNews

Step 1 Install over the new version to the existing one

  • From the admin panel, navigate to Joomla extensions >> Extension Manager
  • From the extension manager, you can upload the latest file to update jNews

Step 2 Uninstall the old version and Install the new version

  • From the admin panel, navigate to Joomla extensions >> Extension Manager
  • From the extension manager, Go to Manage and locate jNews and uninstall the component, plugins and module
  • Then upload the latest updated jNews package

Things to note

  1. You can use both update process style without losing any of your data (subscribers, list, newsletters, everything will be preserved)
  2. Uninstalling jNews module will delete your module configurations
  3. Updating will remove any customized files (PHP, JS or CSS)

Delayed Support?

In general, you can expect a response within 24-48 hours for most issues within our scope. However there are still rare occasions where the delay in support is inevitable. If you do not hear from us for over 48 hours, you can follow-up by bumping the live-chat with your ticket number.

Expired Membership?

We do not guarantee any reply for members with an expired membership. We either close your ticket without notification or recommend that you renew your subscription.
