Inventory is the quantity of a product that is available for sale.

The product inventory is automatically updated when a user completes an order and display these numbers in your store admin.

To configure inventory information for a product:

In the product editor page, choose Delivery tab >> Tangible Goods >> Stock Quantity

Stock quantity: Specifies the quantity, or how many units you currently possess in your inventory. Enter -1 if product has an unlimited stock. The stock quantity is automatically decremented each time a customer buys the product.

Hint

You can change the default Stock quantity instead of showing -1 every-time you want to create a new product. Just navigate to Catalog >> Preferences >> Item >> Items Stock section.
