Image rotating not working in Chrome, Firefox and IE on Windows 10 - only Opera works
Status: Solved

One or more images get uploaded to a product. Any browser works.
However, if they are uploaded and not oriented correctly, it is simple to rotate them using the LEFT / RIGHT buttons on the Images tab.

It just does not work in:
Firefox 52.0.2 32 bit (64 bit OS)
IE 11.1066.14393 update version 11.0.41 KB4014661
Chrome 57.0.2987.133 (assume 64 bit)

Yet in Opera 43.0.2442.1144 (PGO) 64 bit we can rotate the images.

Hello Jay Stoeber ,

We are able to reproduce the same issue. I have added it in the to do list and it will be included in the future release.

We have a release this week but I cannot guarantee the fix can make it because the release is already ready to go out.

I keep you posted when the release is out.

Kind Regards,
Auguste

Excellent. Please just keep me posted when that fix is pushed out and what version(s) I need to make sure I need to be at. I will update, test and report back if fixed at that time.

Thanks Auguste.

Hello Jay Stoeber ,

I talked to the development about this and they said it is the browser which cached the image. In order to see the changes, try to do a hard refresh the of your page and you will see the result.

There is an alternative fix but it would require some development and renaming the image every edit like below link:

When you say "hard refresh" do you mean tell the browser to ignore the local cache, and force it to reacquire the image(s)?? ie press SHIFT+Reload page? Thanks!

Jay

Hello Jay Stoeber ,

Hard refresh means to tell the browser to reacquire the new images.

For Mac click shift and command and r at the same time.

I am not sure how to do it in Windows or Linux. Please try this article;

Hello Jay Stoeber ,

Ignore my previous response.

We are going to do an improvement for the next release (this week) to add custom string for every image, css and js to avoid caching problem. This seems to solve the problem and we've seen how WordPress use this.

Awesome. Just as soon as I catch up on these tickets I will go run Joobi updates on my southergolfandagriculture site shortly. What VERSION should I expect this in or higher so I can watch for it and retest when the newer code has been applied on my sites?

Thanks Auguste
