Not at all. We do not overwrite translations during upgrade, we simply insert the new strings at the bottom of the translations.

For translation or modifications using "Direct Edit" functionality, we do not overwritte any changes you have done.

Having said that, you need to make sure that you follow the Joobi standard way of translating a language that is explained in this article.

Also we always recommend to backup your data before doing any major upgrade.
