As you may know, the Joomla! project has announced the end of life for Joomla 2.5 on Dec 31, 2014. That means all Joomla 2.5 websites will not receive any updates including bugs and security updates.
If you’re on version 2.5.x then now is the perfect time to upgrade and move to the latest version of Joomla 3.3.6 (time of writing). If you are planning to start a new Joomla site, we recommend to choose Joomla 3–it's stable and way cooler.
What about Joobi products?
All Joobi products are already compatible to both Joomla 2.5 and 3.x versions, so you do not have to do anything on your end. No update required.
Having said that, please ensure that you are running jCenter 3.0 (May 2014 release) or higher versions. If you are still running on Joomla 2.5 with older jCenter (1.0-2.9.x), you need to have atleast jCenter 3.0, before even considering a migration process.
Friendly Reminder
If you are already in the latest version, do NOT uninstall any Joobi products. Just follow the Joomla migration process, of course please do a complete working backup.
Summary
- All Joobi products are already compatible and will work on Joomla 2.5 and Joomla 3. No update required.
- We will not provide any customer/technical support for Joobi products who are running under Joomla 2.5 environments effective January 31, 2015.
- Starting from January 2015 we no longer perform product testing on Joomla 2.5. All testing will be done only on Joomla 3 environment.
- Thanks to Joobi flexible development framework, all Joobi products (even new ones) will continue to work on Joomla 2.5 websites–but no guaranteed support is provided.
How to upgrade to Joomla 3
Upgrading from Joomla 2.5 to Joomla 3 is an easy and very straight forward process. You can follow below helpful tutorials;
