February Release - Social eCommerce with EasySocial and a huge bunch of cool features

Happy new year from Joobi! Here's to a great 2015 for your business. We do our best to get to a habit of releasing out great enhancements every month. However the holidays put us few weeks behind, but allow us to work on improving the framework so we can work faster and produce a more stable build.

 

 Today, we are excited to share the first release of Joobi Applications for 2015. This release includes a mix of new features, enhancements, small UI updates, and bug fixes!

Social eCommerce with EasySocial

Empower your marketplace with this new tool and make sure you are not missing out on this hot trend.

• Auto wall posting

All the happenings in the marketplace get posted to the wall:  items, categories or vendor activities all get recorded on the wall.

• My Items

This EasySocial application will display your store items right on your profile.

• My Orders

This EasySocial application will display your store purchases right on profile.

• My Subscriptions

This EasySocial application will display your store subscriptions right from your profile.

EU VAT changes to digital goods

We have implemented a number of ways for you to handle the 2015 EU VAT changes on the sale of e-services.

• VAT API (vatapi.com) integration to automatically handles EU VAT Rates and Number Validation, VAT Calculator and VAT Invoice manager to help your business achieve VAT compliance.
• Taxamo integration to handle correct EU VAT rate, creates a quarterly EU MOSS return, issues e-invoices and securely stores evidence for 10 years.
• EU VAT number checking using VIES (VAT Information Exchange System)

Recently viewed products

Allows you to display the recently viewed products by your customers while browsing your online store.

Facebook Open Graph support

This ensures that the correct data is displayed when someone tries to share/like/comment a link to your site on Facebook (title, description, image).

Flexible Vendor Payment Options

Store admin can now setup to handle payments for vendors or Vendor's setup their own payment gateway:

1. Store Manager will only use the payment system of the store manager
2. Vendor, will only use the payment system of the vendor and it is required for the vendor to have a payment system setup to be able to check out
3. Manager as Default: in that case it is like options 2 Vendor, so we want the payment to be processed by the Vendor BUT if the vendor does not define a payment system then it will default to the Store Manager and use the payment system of the Store Manager
4. Ether One: in that case the user will be presented with Both options the Store Manager payment system or the Vendor payment system.

Build your custom Vendor Registration Forms base on different Vendor Commission Program

Instead of showing the standard vendor registration to possible seller on your storefront, you want to show a personalize vendor registration form base on the Vendor Commission Program they want to subscribe to. This way you can present different information to different level of seller. Follow this article to learn how to build and setup your own personalize vendor registration form.

But wait, there's more! We also added a bunch of cool enhancements, such as:

• Promo text field in the item page
• Paypal fee can now be handled by the Primary Receiver only
• Design enhancements in the item page
• Item badge are now moved to a new location "within the image area" to avoid position conflict
• IP Address Tracking using geoip.nekudo.com
• jVouchers can now generate 2 different vouchers code for a combined orders (2 vouchers in one order)
• You can now "Restore" a view to default setting very similar functionality with a restore factory setting in your devices.
• Ability to uninstall Joobi applications through jCenter (Uninstall one app, all apps or uninstall files and database as well)
• Changes the way the Zones for shipping and tax are handled. You only need to create Zones for the location you want to do business with, if the country is not assigned to a Zone we automatically consider it not applicable.
• Multi-language improvement where it automatically detects the Joomla installed language if the language is not active in Joobi
• Auction items without a bid will now display $0 instead of "No Bid" text
• Custom field size can now be specified in the view if you want to change the dimension of a field according to your liking
• Improvement in the subsription to restrict the number of image and item the user can upload. Previosuly we defined in the code to only one image upload at a time, in this release you can now do multiple upload at a time.
• My auctions view in jAuction frontend now provides a more informative data like auction and bidding status, so you know if you are winning or losing.
• ACL enhancement for the views so that private pages won't be accessible by another user by manually accessing through URL.
• Updated Paypal Adaptive Payments (Orders are not copleting due to IPN change).
• Updated Traditional Chinese Language (zh-TW)
• You can only edit a view using "Direct Edit" if the view is safe to be modified. All critical views which are important for the proper functioning of the software are not editable anymore to avoid software malfunction.
